Takashi Inoue was a Japanese novelist born on August 2, 1915, in Yamaguchi Prefecture. He graduated from the French Literature Department of Waseda University and published novels in Waseda Bungaku, earning a nomination for the Akutagawa Prize in 1940 for 'The Life of a Certain Man'. After the war, he continued to write while also editing Waseda Bungaku. He passed away from pneumonia on June 17, 2002, in a hospital in Shimonoseki at the age of 86.
