Takashi Aketagawa (June 22, 1909 - August 13, 1958) was a Japanese sculptor and music researcher. He was a founding member of the Sculpture Division of the New Production Association. Aketagawa studied and created the ocarina, a wind instrument, while at the Tokyo School of Fine Arts and successfully developed the 12-hole ocarina. He is recognized as the founder of Aketa Ocarina, having popularized and established this instrument in Japan, and is revered as 'the Father of Ocarina in Japan.'
