Takanori Yokosawa is a Japanese politician and former athlete born on March 6, 1972, in Yahaba, Iwate. He has served in the House of Councillors since 2019, representing Iwate. After high school, he worked as a test rider for Suzuki and became a motocross competitor. Following a 1997 accident that left him in a wheelchair, he took up skiing and participated in the 2010 Winter Paralympics. In the 2019 House of Councillors election, he won against the Liberal Democrat candidate, later joining the Democratic Party for People and then the Constitutional Democratic Party of Japan.
