Takanobu Terada was a renowned Chinese historian born on May 23, 1931, in Himeji, Hyogo Prefecture, Japan. He obtained his doctorate from Kyoto University in 1974, following studies in Oriental history. Terada served as a professor at Kyoto University and later at Tohoku University, from which he became a professor emeritus after retiring in 1994. He also held the position of president at Iwaki Meisei University. Notably, he conducted research on the Gwanggaeto Stele in 1985, significantly contributing to the field of Chinese history.
