Tadeusz Bilikiewicz was a Polish psychiatrist, historian, and philosopher of medicine born on April 5, 1901, in Lwów. He completed his medical studies and also studied philosophy at the Jagiellonian University. Bilikiewicz contributed significantly to psychiatry, emphasizing the biological basis of psychosis and the importance of pharmacological treatments. During World War II, he helped hide Poles and Jews in the hospital's basement. He held various academic positions, became a member of the Polish Academy of Arts and Sciences, and published numerous works until his retirement in 1971. He passed away on November 10, 1980.
