Syed Abul Mansur Habibullah was a prominent communist activist and later a leftist leader in West Bengal. He was elected as the joint secretary of the All India Kisan Sabha and subsequently became the general secretary of the Bengal Provincial Kisan Sabha in 1944. He played a central role in the famous Tebhaga movement that took place between 1946 and 1947, right before India's independence. In relation to the Tebhaga movement, he published the famous pamphlet titled 'Langal Jhar Zomi Tar', which encapsulated the call for land rights.
