Sybil Wettasinghe (1927 - 2020) was a Sri Lankan children's author and illustrator, regarded as the matriarch of children's literature in Sri Lanka. She created over 200 children's books that have been translated into several languages. Notably, she entered the Guinness World Records for writing a children's book with 1250 different endings. Born in Galle on October 31, 1927, she passed away in Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte on July 1, 2020, at the age of 92.
