Susan Firer is an American poet born on October 14, 1948, in Milwaukee, WI. She grew up along the southwestern shore of Lake Michigan. Firer served as the poet laureate of Milwaukee from 2008 to 2010. In addition to her role as poet laureate, she contributed to the local literary scene by editing the online poetry column for the Shepherd Express from 2008 to 2014, enriching the community with her insights and works.
