Surianto, born Ramin Jozef Hardjoprajitno on December 23, 1937, was a Javanese poet and musician from Suriname. He spent his early years in Paramaribo and was educated in music, learning the violin. His poetry often reflects the Javanese immigrant experience in Suriname. He published several poetry anthologies and created music to preserve Javanese culture. His notable works include 'Aruming melathi' and 'Wis mbalik ombak', which contain themes related to Javanese heritage and politics. Surianto passed away on March 17, 2006.
