Suranga Nanayakkara is a Sri Lankan computer scientist and inventor, born in 1981. He is currently the director of the Augmented Human Lab and an associate professor at the National University of Singapore. Previously, he was an assistant professor at the Singapore University of Technology and Design before relocating to Auckland in 2018. Nanayakkara is recognized for his contributions to the FingerReader and Haptic Chair, and his research interests span wearable computing, assistive technology, ubiquitous computing, AI, collective intelligence, and robotics.
