Sugra Visram (1923-2012) was a pioneering Ugandan politician, activist, and businesswoman, notable for being one of the first women members of parliament in post-independence Uganda. Co-opted into the Buganda Lukiiko by Kabaka Muteesa II, she represented the Kibuga Constituency in Uganda's first two parliaments until her resignation in 1966. Visram was affiliated with the Kabaka Yekka Party and, alongside Florence Alice Lubega and Eseza Makumbi, was among the first three women to serve as MPs in Uganda. She received the National Independence Medal in 2012.
