Sue Donaldson, also known as Susan Cliffe, is a Canadian writer and philosopher born in Ottawa in 1962. She researches at Queen's University, where she co-founded the APPLE research group focused on animal philosophy, politics, law, and ethics. A committed vegan and advocate for animal rights, she co-authored 'Zoopolis: A Political Theory of Animal Rights' with Will Kymlicka, winning the Canadian Philosophical Association Book Prize in 2011. Donaldson has also published articles on animal rights and authored a vegan cookbook, 'Foods That Don't Bite Back', and a historical fiction novel for young adults, 'Threads of Deceit'.
