Styrbjörn Albert Bergelt (1939-2006) was a Swedish folk musician and composer, known for his contributions to Nordic folk music. Originally a jazz trombonist, he transitioned to classical music, studying french horn at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm. He became passionate about folk music and revitalized traditional instruments like the sälgflöjt and stråkharpa. An accomplished instrument builder and teacher, Bergelt also painted, exhibited watercolor art, and participated in radio and television. He was awarded the title of riksspelman in 1983 and received the Zorn Prize in gold in 1997 for his excellence in folk music performance.
