Stephen W. Desper is an American audio engineer renowned for his work with the Beach Boys and for inventing the Spatializer, an effects unit that uses psychoacoustic techniques to create a three-dimensional sound experience. His creations can be heard on Bonnie Raitt's album 'Longing in Their Hearts' (1994). He served as the house engineer for the Monterey Pop Festival in June 1967, where he mixed the sound for the event after transporting a sound system loaned by the Beach Boys.
