Engwall developed the 'Avanti method' around 1960, a technique for drilling geothermal heat wells more efficiently. He founded Sten Engwall AB in 1966 for automotive care products and later created Semako AB in 2001 to develop energy-efficient home solutions, including innovative building products like 'Ecogrund' and 'Teeg-huset'.
