Oliver Lee 'Sonny' Rodgers was an American electric blues guitarist, singer, and songwriter born on December 4, 1939. He gained acclaim for his work, particularly for the release of 'Cadillac Baby' b/w 'Big Leg Woman', which won him a W.C. Handy Award in 1990. His debut album, They Call Me the Cat Daddy, was also well-received but his career was tragically cut short by his untimely death in May 1990, shortly before a planned UK tour. Rodgers collaborated with numerous prominent blues musicians during his career.
