Solipuram Madhusudhan Reddy, also known as S M Reddy, is an esteemed botanist from India, born on October 15, 1940, in Nalgonda district, Telangana. He earned a bachelor's degree in botany in 1963, a master's in 1965, and a Ph.D. in 1968. Reddy has guided over 30 Ph.D. research students and published more than 350 academic papers. A retired professor from Kakatiya University, he served as the President of the Indian Botanical Society in 2016. Reddy has contributed significantly to botany and associated fields, authoring numerous books and papers.
