Solco Walle Tromp was a Dutch geologist and biometeorologist, born on March 9, 1909, in Batavia, Dutch East Indies. He served as a professor of geology at Fuad University in Cairo from 1947 to 1950. Tromp was a co-founder of the International Society of Biometeorology and made significant contributions to the field through his pioneering publications on biometeorology. He passed away on March 17, 1983.
