He had a prolific career spanning nearly fifty years, during which he played and recorded with notable bands including John Mayall's Bluesbreakers and the Ike & Tina Turner Revue. Richardson is particularly recognized for his innovative arrangement of 'Proud Mary,' a hit by Ike & Tina Turner, originally by Creedence Clearwater Revival. He passed away on January 29, 2004.
