Sōichi Mori (May 3, 1907 - March 13, 1999) was a Japanese writer from Morioka, Iwate Prefecture. His real name was Saito Mori. After dropping out of the Tokyo Foreign Language School's Russian department, he worked as a journalist before becoming a writer. He was the first Naoki Prize winner from Iwate Prefecture and had a close friendship with the poet Kenji Miyazawa. Mori published numerous works related to Miyazawa and his writings.
