Olsén held various editorial positions at Arbetarbladet, and served as editor-in-chief for Dala-Demokraten and Norra Västerbotten. From 2007 to 2018, she worked at Aftonbladet, culminating in her role as publisher. Additionally, she is involved with Poppius School of Journalism and has held several positions within the Press Committee.
