Skjalg Åkerøy is a Norwegian politician from the Labour Party (Ap) who served as the mayor of Grong municipality from 2011 to 2019. He graduated from Namdal Gymnas in 1973 and completed his studies at the Norwegian School of Journalism in 1978. While a student, he worked part-time as a journalist in Oslo and continued his career at Namdal Arbeiderblad. He has been active in local politics since the 1990s and served on various committees, including as mayor.
