Sir John Fisher Wentworth Dilke, 5th Baronet, born on May 8, 1906, was the son of Sir Fisher Wentworth Dilke, 4th Baronet. He served in the Foreign Office from 1929 to 1932, participating in Government Information Services and the BBC's External Service. From 1942 to 1945, he led the British Official Wireless News. He succeeded to the baronetcy on March 25, 1944, after his father's death, taking up residence in Chelsea, United Kingdom.
