Silvia Meiertöns, now known as Silvia Laug, is a former German volleyball player born on May 4, 1955, in Schwerte. She played for the German national team from 1971 to 1982, earning 236 caps. In her youth, she was with 1. VC Schwerte before playing in the Bundesliga for various teams including 1. VC Hannover and VfL Hannover. She achieved multiple national championships and DVV cup victories. In 1979, she was named Volleyball Player of the Year. Currently, she works as a physiotherapist in Augsburg.
