Sigríður Ásdís Snævarr (born 23 June 1952) is a notable Icelandic diplomat who made history as the first woman appointed as an ambassador by Iceland. Her significant diplomatic career includes serving as the ambassador to Sweden from 1991 to 1996, during which she played a crucial role in strengthening the diplomatic ties between Iceland and Sweden. Her pioneering position in diplomatic service has inspired many women in Iceland and beyond to pursue careers in diplomacy and international relations.
