Shunsuke Ōba (May 13, 1906 - November 30, 1970) was a Japanese scholar of Japanese literature. He was a native of Shizuoka Prefecture and graduated from the National School of Tokyo in the Japanese literature department. He served as a professor at Chuo University, starting in 1936 at the preparatory division and later in the literature department. His expertise was in Japanese language education, and he made contributions to studies of early modern literature, notably researching the sexual themes in the works of poet Kobayashi Issa.
