He was affiliated with the Japan Racing Association (JRA) and achieved notable success with horses like Ainess Fujin, the winner of the 1990 Tokyo Yushun (Japanese Derby), and Offside Trap, the winner of the 1998 Tenno Sho (Autumn). He graduated from Nihon University’s Faculty of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine. Katō passed away on April 16, 2012.
