Shūhei Kishimoto is a Japanese politician and former bureaucrat born on July 12, 1956. He has served as the 22nd governor of Wakayama Prefecture and held various significant positions including State Minister of the Cabinet Office and State Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry in the Noda administration. Kishimoto has been elected to the House of Representatives five times and has held roles such as chair of the National Democratic Party's election strategy committee and acting secretary-general. He is married to NHK reporter Kaori Iida.
