Shūgorō Yamamoto (June 22, 1903 - February 14, 1967) was a Japanese novelist known for his popular literature. He published works under at least fourteen different names. His writings inspired many significant film adaptations, including 'Red Beard' and 'Dodesukaden' by Akira Kurosawa, as well as 'The Inn of Evil' by Masaki Kobayashi and 'Kill!' by Kihachi Okamoto. His literary contributions have made a lasting impact on the landscape of Japanese storytelling.
