Shōji Ogata (February 28, 1901 - March 14, 1967) was a Japanese diplomat and diplomatic commentator. Born in Kumamoto Prefecture, he graduated from the University of Tokyo in 1924 and worked in various diplomatic positions in Paris, Moscow, and other locations. After retiring, he became a commentator on foreign affairs and served as a permanent director of the Japan-Soviet Society. He authored several books on Soviet policies and international relations.
