Shōhei Tanida (February 26, 1923 - August 19, 2007) was a Japanese editor and literary critic known for his research on the author Jun'ichirō Tanizaki. He graduated from Kyoto University and was involved in significant literary works during his career, including editing various acclaimed books. He was the editor-in-chief of 'Shinchō' and participated in the 'Machida Society' where he interacted with many literary figures. He authored 'Memoirs of Postwar Literature' in 1988. Tanida passed away from old age in 2007.
