Shizue Hiraoka (February 18, 1905 - October 21, 1987) was a Japanese writer and the mother of renowned author Yukio Mishima (birth name: Kimitake Hiraoka). She was the second daughter of Chinese scholar Kenzo Hashi and the granddaughter of Kanjiro Hashi, a Confucian scholar of the Kaga domain. Shizue recognized and nurtured her son Yukio Mishima's literary talent during his youth, significantly contributing to his growth as a writer.
