Shirō Seki (March 29, 1909 - December 12, 1990) was a Japanese detective novelist and electrical engineer. He is known for his novel 'The Electric Locomotive Murder Case.' As an engineer, he held positions such as president of Meiden Corporation and chairman of the Institute of Electrical Engineers of Japan. He also used the pen name Sōhei Shibayama, inspired by the location of the office he worked at during the electrification work of the Jōetsu Line, near a brook called Shibakurasawa.
