Shin Hoshina (ほしな しん) was a Japanese rugby player and coach born on May 20, 1904, and passed away on September 26, 1977. He was affiliated with the Kyoto University Rugby Club and later became the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Doshisha University. He also served as the President of Doshisha University. Hoshina was influential in the development of rugby in Japan and contributed significantly to education through his academic roles.
