Shigeru Nakamura was a Japanese supercentenarian born in Hiroshima Prefecture on January 11, 1911. He survived the atomic bombing of Hiroshima just two days later and held a health booklet for Hibakusha (atomic bomb survivors). He worked in civil engineering, raised five children and enjoyed time with ten grandchildren. After his wife passed away in 2003, he lived alone until he was over 100, actively gardening and managing household chores. Transitioning to a care facility in 2018, he enjoyed coffee and favored Wagyu beef. He became Japan's oldest living male after September 9, 2022, until his death on November 15, 2022, at 111 years old.
