Shigeo Ishioka (January 25, 1918 - August 15, 2006) was a Japanese applied physicist and mountaineer. He contributed to the improvement of mountain climbing equipment safety through the investigation of the nylon rope incident. He served as the president of the Iwa-ryo-kai, a mountaineering club in Suzuka City, Mie Prefecture, and was an honorary member of the Tokai branch of the Japan Mountaineering Association. He was a member of the Japan Mountaineering Association from 1953 to 1996.
