Shiba P. Chatterjee (February 22, 1903 – February 27, 1989) was an influential Indian geographer and the founder of the Calcutta Geographical Society, now known as the Geographical Society of India. He is regarded as the father of Indian geography and served as the president of the International Geographical Union from 1964 to 1968. He was instrumental in naming the Indian northeastern state of Meghalaya. In recognition of his contributions, he was awarded the Padma Bhushan by the Government of India in 1985.
