Shappi Khorsandi is a British-Iranian author and comedian born on June 8, 1973. She is the daughter of the Iranian satirist and poet Hadi Khorsandi. Shappi left Iran during her childhood following the Islamic Revolution. In January 2016, she became the president of the British Humanist Association, which is now known as Humanists UK. Shappi's work often explores themes of identity and culture, reflecting her experiences as an Iranian immigrant in Britain.
