Sevinç Çokum is a Turkish writer born on August 25, 1943, in Beşiktaş, Istanbul. She is a representative of the 'HISARCILAR' movement and is known for her short stories, novels, and screenplays. Çokum studied Turkish language and literature at Istanbul University. Besides writing, she has been involved in music, serving in the Istanbul Symphony Orchestra. She worked as an editor and contributed to various literary magazines and newspapers, including a weekly column since April 2003.
