Sergey Alexandrovich Maduev, born on June 17, 1956, was a notorious Soviet brigand and serial killer known by the nickname 'Chervonets' and self-identified as 'Thief-outside-the-law'. His criminal activities began in the 1970s, but his most significant crimes occurred at the end of the 1980s. He is recognized as one of the last criminals of the Soviet era. Maduev gained infamy after a failed escape attempt from Kresty Prison in March 1991, aided by a female investigator he had seduced.
