Serge Berna was a French poet and writer known for his participation in the 'Notre Dame Scandal' of 1950, a provocative anticatholic act. He was a member of the Lettriste International, a group that broke away from Isidore Isou's movement. He wrote the text for the scandal, which was delivered by Michel Mourre dressed as a priest during Easter Mass at Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris. Berna was later expelled from the Lettriste International in 1954. He published poetry and essays in various literary magazines and contributed to Guy Debord's film 'Lamentos a favor de Sade.'
