Seppo Kalevi Lappalainen (October 15, 1936 – December 12, 2001) was a Finnish author known for his diverse body of work which includes novels, short stories, essays, plays, poetry, and screenplays. He wrote the screenplay for Seppo Putkinen's film 'Lintumies' (1978) and for Edvin Laine's films 'Akaton mies' (1983) and 'Akallinen mies' (1986). In 1965, his birthplace was transferred to the Polvijärvi open-air museum, and a plaque was later placed on his childhood home to commemorate its historical significance.
