Semih Sancar was a Turkish military officer, born on March 7, 1911, and passed away on December 8, 1984, in Istanbul. He served as the 16th Chief of General Staff of the Turkish Armed Forces. He graduated from Kuleli Military High School in 1930 and completed the Military Academy in 1932 with a focus on artillery. Sancar held various command positions and achieved ranks from brigade general to army general by 1969, culminating in his appointment as Commanding General of the Land Forces in 1972.
