Scott D. Emr, born on February 8, 1954, is a prominent cell biologist and molecular geneticist. He serves as the Frank H.T. Rhodes Director of the Weill Institute for Cell and Molecular Biology at Cornell University. Additionally, he is a professor of molecular biology and genetics in the College of Arts and Sciences at Cornell, an associate professor of molecular medicine at the Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine, and a professor of biochemistry at Weill Cornell Medicine. In 2021, he was awarded the Shaw Prize in Life Science and Medicine.
