Sansanee Sthirasuta, also known as Mae Chee Sansanee, was a prominent Thai Theravada Buddhist spiritual teacher and non-ordained woman monastic. She was born in 1953 and devoted her life to teaching meditation and empowering women in Buddhism. In 1987, she established Sathira-Dhammasthan in Bangkok, a retreat center aimed at providing refuge for women in need. Originally a model and television personality, she transitioned into a spiritual life at the age of 27, following her decision to leave her past for a more meaningful calling.
