He played in Claude Thornhill's orchestra during the 1940s and collaborated with notable musicians such as Gil Evans, Gerry Mulligan, and Lee Konitz. Siegelstein contributed to the recording of Miles Davis' album 'Birth of the Cool' in 1949. Toward the end of his life, he resided in Yonkers, New York.
