Samuel Tyszelman was a Jewish Polish communist born on 21 January 1921 in Puławy, Poland. He became a member of the French Communist resistance during World War II, particularly known for his role in an anti-German demonstration in August 1941. After being arrested, he and a companion were executed by a German military tribunal on 19 August 1941. His execution marked a turning point for the Jeunesses Communistes, leading to a surge in militant actions against occupying forces, resulting in reprisals that included hundreds of executions.
