Sameera Moussa was born on March 3, 1917, in the village of Sanbu al-Kubra in Zifta, Gharbia Governorate, Egypt. She was the first Egyptian female nuclear scientist and the first teaching assistant at the Faculty of Science at Fuad I University (now Cairo University). Moussa made significant contributions to the field of nuclear science and was an advocate for the peaceful use of nuclear energy.
