Salty and Roselle were courageous guide dogs present during the September 11 attacks in New York City. They successfully guided their owners out of the burning World Trade Center towers before their collapse. Their heroic actions earned them the prestigious Dickin Medal from the People's Dispensary for Sick Animals. Roselle was posthumously honored as the American Hero Dog of the Year in 2011, and a book was published about her inspiring story.
