Salman Hashimikov is a prominent Soviet heavyweight wrestler born on May 4, 1953, in Chechnya, Russia. He achieved notable success in wrestling, winning two gold medals in Europe and four medals at the World Wrestling Championships in the years 1979, 1981, 1982, and 1983. Additionally, he secured gold medals in both European and World tournaments while competing as a junior in 1970 and 1971. Hashimikov spent five years as a professional wrestler in Japan, where he won the IWGP Heavyweight Championship in May 1989.
